Hot Honey Maple Candied Bacon

Yes. Candied Bacon. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better. My mom gasped when she tried it, then yelled at me to get it out of the house in fear she would eat every single slice. Easier than you think, and will please just about everyone you know. Eat it alone or throw it in a Bloody Mary. This would also be delicious on a chicken sandwich or burger.

  • 1 pound bacon

  • 1/2 cup Maple Craft Hot Honey syrup

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes

Preheat oven to 400.

Place bacon on a wire rack over a foil lined baking pan. Brush top of the bacon with syrup, add brown sugar. The bacon does not have to be fully coated in sugar, just sprinkled over top. Evenly sprinkle red pepper flakes on each slice.

Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, flip bacon, brush with maple syrup, sprinkle sugar and red pepper flakes, and bake for another 15 minutes or until peak crispiness.

Remove immediately and transfer to a plate. Bacon may end up sticking to the wire rack if left for too long.
